Our beginnings were at Riverside Church who introduced Sign Language interpreters at every service back in September 2004. As our heart grew in desire to the minister to free video chat sites udult Deaf Community, we set-up a BSL Home Group and BSL Alpha Courses in January 2006 and these still continue now. British Sign Language, with open access to anybody without facing any barriers and enabling us to outreach into the Deaf Community.

In June 2009, we invited: Laurence Banks and his wife Susan to launch our service by cutting the red ribbon. We want to say thank you to Harry Hewat and Riverside Church for the great support, encouragement and prayer for our team as we established the Word of Hands and thank you to our Lord Jesus for giving us the desire to see this service happen! We began running the services every two months in the first year then increased the number of services to 9 times per year from 2010-2012. From February 2013, the number of services increased again from 9 to 11 services! We now run the 1st Sunday of every month with a break during January only.
